Newegg.com

Introduction

At Newegg.com, landing pages exist to propel conversions. What we needed to understand is what type of conversations we are looking for.

Building brand awareness. One of the goals is to present a new product to the customer and increase the email subscribers to building a relationship with these individuals via content about the brands as well as products/services that ultimately results in a loyal following and customer growth.

Sales. At the end, these landing pages facilitate the decision process of buying a product, for a quick purchases by showcasing a specific product and providing users with the ability to add to a cart or buy without ever leaving your landing page.

The Process

Working in a company this size is always about teamwork and good communication. My first steps are understanding what is our goal and what assets I could work with. For these types of landing pages, we have to feature several brands which means that we have to follow our main design guidelines as a marketplace, but at the same time we must follow every brand’s guidelines, and most important is to understand who is going to be our primary customer.

  • 1- Gather all the assets. Products to feature, Images, logos, etc.
  • 2- Understanding the goals
  • 3- Deadlines
  • 4- Create wireframes for and share them with stakeholders.
  • 5- Create design assets
  • 6- Develop the website in HTML
  • 7- Share it with the QA team.
